Our first "real" day of school was Monday but since it was Jacob's b-day we ate his favorite - steaks for dinner. So tonite was our Stone Soup nite. This am the little ones collected 10 stones for us. We placed them in our Stone soup pot as one of the ingredients. Then whomever gets one of the stones in their bowl of soup gets a prize. We have been doing this tradition since the beginning of our home schooling 25 yrs ago. Funny but our older , married daughters remember this tradition and one who home schools even started her own tradition for their first day of school- having donuts for dinner - yummy.
