Do you know why Ava is carrying this stick ?
This story starts at 3:30 am on Wed.. I was awakened by helicopters flying overhead with search lights on. We live not far from interstate 81 and we thought it was a med vac helicopter trying to land for an accident. Later that am Mary Kate and the kids come over and she asks me why are there all the police and k-9 dogs up the road ? Then just about 10 min. later a friend calls to ask if I heard the news. A convicted felon had escaped while being transported from Kentucky to to New Jersey on his way for a trial on carjacking charges...They had stopped the police van at the Burger King just a mile or so from us...hum. So Paul calls the police to find out what is going on. Yes he was on the loose and considered dangerous. We should lock our doors and windows and not let the kids outside to play until he is found. ......All day long there were helicopters and police and dogs and now the US marshals. We stayed in all day yesterday and followed the news and even called the police to find out info... and still today they have not found him :( So we stayed inside again and were especially vigilant about locking doors and windows as they suggested. I had also called some neighbors to share about the situation. Tonite they are asking for us to check on our neighbors... thinking that maybe he is hiding in someone's home ( how awful is that to think). Again tonite we wonder where is this man who is wanted... so earlier I was outside checking and these 2 girlies come around the pool and Ava has a stick... " to get the man". So our last 2 days have been a bit different around here.....Anything interesting going on in your neck of the woods ?
Wow! That is some news! I remember about 2 years ago, two military helicopters landed in the acreage behind us. It was SOOOO LOUD! We saw soldiers getting out. The lady who owned the property was so scared she got in her car and took off down the street! We called the police and found out that one of them was having mechanical problems and they were working on it. About 5 hours later, they all took off. But it gave us a slight taste of what it must be like to be invaded!
ReplyDeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could sleep at night!
Sure hope he's caught SOON!
Ah, that's scary! I hope they find him (and I do hope they are searching outside your area, as I guess he could have carjacked again).
ReplyDeleteHere.. nothing out of the ordinary. A few rockets from Gaza, a little mortar reply from here. :( Just an average holiday week.
Did they find him?
ReplyDeleteI called a state police friend of mine and he said no they had not. I think they believe he is not around here anymore but they don't know where he is...Now it is non newsworthy so we have heard nothing. People around here are saying ," At least he knew the right state to run away from." It was unbelievable the information they did not share and the fact that he got away... Lots of unanswered questions from our neighbors here--- like why was the prison van parked at the Burger King in the first place at 3:30 am when the BK was closed... especially when they could have parked across the street at the McDonalds that was open....oh well made our life interesting last week.
