It is with a saddened heart that I share that we are no longer pursuing the adoption of Shadrach. There are a myriad of issues that have gotten us to this point ; most are not positive. I will not go into a blame game, but suffice it to say that this is not the end point that any of us have wanted. Shadrach will remain in our hearts and prayers.

Hi Jeane,
Knowing your family the way I do, I'm sure this decision was not made lightly. With your incredible ministry, service to God, and heart for children, I look forward to the amazing ways that you will continue to be used by God.
Love,
Mary B.
Jean, I'm so sorry. I know that you were dedicated to trying to save Shadrach's life by bringing him here where he could have the surgery he needs. I'll keep praying for him as well. Nothing should stand between the need of a child for a family, and a family willing to take him in. I know from Guatemala adoption horror stories that happened when we were adopting that some institutions and people (and governments) do not have the best interests of the children at heart. Carolyn
I'm so sorry to hear that things did not work out in adopting Shadrach. It would have been such a blessing for him to be a part of your wonderful family.
