I heard this quote tonite on the movie, Free Willy- My pockets are empty but my heart is filled with something close to devine.... that is how I feel about our family... yes we have spent every dime to bring these kids home but the feeling I get when I watch them is something very close to devine.........

Hello, I follow your blog and think that you and your children are blessings to one another. I am writing about Gracie- have you had her checked for AUDITORY NEUROPATHY- it might explain her normal hearing results and lack of speech. Please read about it. It greatly impairs a person's ability to understand sound/speech. Sound enters the ear in a normal way, but becomes distorted when being transmitted from the inner ear to the brain. Often Sign language and/or cochlear implant are used to help the child to be able to communicate and develop language. Good luck to you and your family.
Thanks Kelly. I will look into that more. I appreciate your suggestion.. She does hear though and responds to commands even in English... It is like when she wants to or feels safe she will talk...
Mrs. Jeane, look up Selective Mutism. My daughter had this. It is an anxiety disorder that inhibits the child from speaking in stressful situations or in certain settings. Thanks Penny.. I will. Our son Isaac was the same as Gracie.. she reacts sort of like an autistic child as did he.. he started to talk in a very short period of time when he came home. I think it is a choice of hers to talk when she is comfortable and we think from some of her other behaviors that some not to positive things have happened to her. I am anxious to read your story and thanks again for sharing.
Simply beautiful! Sorry we missed you this week. We really enjoyed our visit to Baltimore. O is much more relaxed and hopeful that she might walk again soon!
