We went to a Russian store this am....

I get asked sometimes, "How do you love that many kids?" I know that what they really mean is how do you find time to love that many children.... I have shared this before that one of the ways is to cook or bake for them. They honestly love eating :) Since most of them were in an orphanage or from a dysfunctional family their meals were not always the best but they still have some memories specific to their country.... So this am we visited a Russian foodstore an hour away... this is what we bought. The kids have been describing a typical Russian/Ukraine cake they got to eat there called Pas ha'. We have a dear family friend from Ukraine and she shared how to make it but also she gave us the name of this store. So we bought one of these traditional cakes for our Easter celebration... actually we are eating it tonite after we do our family devotions which will include a foot washing ceremony. As you can see from their faces they enjoyed it almost as much as I did listening to them remember some of the foods they ate in Ukraine or Russia... we even have some fish that Cate bought that has that "wonderful" fishy smell.

We are officially off from school until Monday, April 12. We have lots planned to do and I am as excited as the kids to have our Spring break . If the weather holds there is a camping nite and campfire planned, lots of Easter celebrating the risen Lord and times just being together enjoying the warm weather.

The kids will help me bake and cook lots of fun foods and of course dye eggs and we are making chocolate covered pretzels to share... This is my favorite time of year .
