Doves and the Holy Spirit

These 2 pictures were taken on Easter morning when we were doing our sonrise service. There were 2 doves in a tree out front and they would coo during our time outside. We feed the birds and have many diff. species... most all of the kids can name them for you and tell you about them.... Paul was a park naturalist when we first got married and the Lord's creation - nature is dear to us and amazing. We always have lots of morning doves around our property... to me they are a precious reminder of the Holy Spirit.

From Luke 3:21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove.

Often as I am leaving our home for an adoption trip ( there have been many ) or for something that the Lord has called us too or even a difficult time ( like the funerals of my parents) or leaving with a child for surgery - we have done 66 surgeries and some major ones with our adopted children in 6 yrs.. I will see a dove in our Peace garden or on our property. It has totally amazed me how much of a happening this has been... so I feel that when I see them it is a special reminder that the Lord is with us... Easter morning was made more special by the sweet cooing of the doves as we worshiped.

Such a sweet post. What a challenging road your family has had; yet, you all are such an example of making it through it by keeping faith in many small ways every day. Your Easter photos of your family are beautiful :)
