The rest of our day was great!

We just got home from seeing the movie, What If. I recommend the movie. It was very good and a great choice that Paul made to do this tonite.... It reminded us of the movie, Family Man- but with a Christian perspective. Gracie really had a good day... can you tell she loves sweets.

Fall fun... Is how we do it.

There always is lots of discussion about Halloween when this time of year comes around. We have never celebrated Halloween as halloween... our celebrations have always centered on the Lord and the beauty of the season and who made this wonderful time of year...
So we do things that are found in the season of Fall usually...pumpkins , apples and corn. We love a "fire camp" and so we usually make one . Today we went to church and came home to the campfire... and I had made one of our favorite soups...Cheddar chowder potato soup. We roasted the hotdogs and Paul had made veggie trays while we were at church . ( It was his turn to stay home with Andrew ). Then the kids roasted marshmellows and are now watching a football game. We are making carmel apples and then go to eat dinner at McDonalds and go to see the movie What If.
Some years we have moved the furniture to the sides and we have done square dancing...played Bingo with the candy corn and had a treasure hunt for the loot of candy :) We also do many Fall crafts during our school....
No matter... we are having fun as a family together and celebrating the Lord's creation .

Random pics of Ghana..for a friend who is leaving Sat.

These are for a friend who is leaving with her husband on Sat. for Ghana. They will be in the same village as our children are. I wanted to share so they can see ahead of time some of what they will be experiencing...
I have to say that I am also jealous ( in a good way) of them...I loved the people of Ghana and many of the faces are often in my heart and mind as I go about my day...
I plan to share more about our trip but wanted to get these posted for them to see...

Ava making silly faces...

Yesterday Ava came over to me and started to make faces like this. She can raise her r eye brow ( I could not get it on the camera) just like her pawpaw. A few of our bio. daughter's can do this... I can't.

I just love Mya...late in the afternoon coloring

I love that she still loves to color and can be by herself and be perfectly content.... ( which is not easy in our family )

Now what do I do with this thing....

Mady is always right in the thick of things that everyone else is doing... that includes pumpkin carving too.
