Watch this video of Andrew the first nite with us and be encouraged....

Joseph and I were going thru pics and videos the other nite and we came across this video of Andrew the first nite we had him in Sofia. I really had forgotten how little muscle developement he had at first... all from being left in his crib for 5 plus yrs... He could not even hold his head up at times.Looking at that video and him now is even more reason for me to encourage others to care about these children... In just a short 5 months he can walk. Last nite he ate a record total for the day of 10 bottles... and my oh my is he trying his best to engage us by being a silly boy.... oh if you ever had even a small amount of compassion or desire to help one of these precious children.... know that the rewards of watching them overcome and experience a whole and full life is one of the greatest highs you can ever experience.....there are so many children who need a loving home.

So wonderful the progress he's made! So sad to think that he would still be languishing away in that crib had you not found him. God is good!
My cousin adopted a 17 month old years ago that was a micro-preemie. She was on oxygen 24/7 through a trach and fed via a stomach tube. She was told Rachael would never walk, talk, see, or hear and be a vegetable the rest of her life. My cousin refused to believe that, but loved her anyway. Within months, Rachael was rolling over. Later she was sitting. She is not deaf and her vision is corrected with glasses. She is very delayed for a 12 yr. old, but has been walking since she was four and was potty trained a year or so after that. She is a blessing and one of the greatest joys our family has ever known. God bless you for loving these children, but I know from experience what a blessing they are to you also. I will have to blog about Rachael soon. She is a miracle in so many ways. :)

Beautiful! Of all the posts I especially love the one with the pictures of Andrew at July 09 / Christmas 09 and then his strong thighs in May 2010!!!!! I've passed that entry onto so many of my friends and family as inspiration to them to look beyond the comfort of their current situations and perhaps reach out to a child in need...in whatever way they can. God Bless you, Paul and the kids :)
Love in Christ,

WOW! You are so right! What an amazing difference!
He couldn't even hold his head up, and his legs were so, SO tiny! Heartbreaking, but the end of the story is not over. :)
What joy to see him WALKING!!!!
