From Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa of Calcutta always had room in her heart for one more. "Bring the child to me," she'd say.

She is probably the one person on this earth who I admired the most, for her heart and compassion. If I can only teach and share with others and especially my own children to love and to express their love to others like this. Then I will feel like I have been able to fulfill my deeply felt passion to love children and to know what a blessing a child truly is... for in the beginning we were all blessed by the baby in a manager, Jesus.

I still have room. Just waiting for the resources and the hubby to be on board, to go for more. I have many in mind.. Praying God will talk to him soon.

I do have a question did you ever catch any grief from the social worker doing the Home Study? When we had ours done last time, she would only put 1 child. We demanded she put 2. She finally did, but said it was againist her recommendation.

Actually we have never had any problems with the social workers approving us for the number of children we have been able to adopt. Even the last time when we adopted 5. We had the room in our home and passed everything with no problems ( the doctors, police and state clearances). We do get scrutinized more by the USCIS... and sometimes we think unfairly so. The last time was a 6 month ordeal but in reality they could not approve us because all the other authorities were on our side( doctors, therapists, school board who monitors our home schooling, special ed dept. of the school board, and others had written letters of support). We lost the opportunity to adopt a sibling group because the USCIS even lied to us at times... this is not my favorite agency to deal with (can you tell). Eventually the Lord's will prevailed and we did adopt our last 5 in June. We just completed a very large addition this Oct... and we are praying about another child.. a known one :)

I was reading a biography on Mother Teresa, and she was writing about a time in the War in India where she had a large amount of girls to take care of and no food to feed them. She walked out onto the streets where there were bodies laying and found some soldiers telling them that she need food to feed her girls. She prayed and went back. A few hours later, a truck showed up with many large bags of rice and God provided, when they had nothing!

I find it to be the same for us. God always provides for our needs.
I just wish the gov't. agencies involved could see that too.

Sometimes I think they want everybody to have endless resources or the home isn't good enough, and they forget that things are not important, but willing hearts open to love children are.

Many years ago, we would not have qualified to have our own children financially. LOL But God provided and they are happy healthy adults.

Thanks Christie for sharing. I meant to say in my comment that in reality the USCIS could not diaapprove us ( I said approve us).
