Abraham and Andrew

Abraham our first adopted son and child- home now 25 yrs and Andrew our last adopted son ( so far) - home almost 8 months.

Abraham was around 2 when he came home from Mexico and he is blind from birth. He was beaten severely and in a body cast with both legs broken before we brought him home. He suffered greatly in his orphanage setting and was malnourished.

Andrew was 5 yrs when he came home from Bulgaria. He too was blind from birth. He was abused, severely neglected and also malnourished.

Both have had great struggles and behaviors to overcome, both have been a challenge and a joy. Both given to us by our Lord as our child and both we cherish and feel blessed to have in our family even with the struggles.

The laughter and the smiles reflect a change in each and these have made it all worth it. They have taught us many things about ourselves as well as our faith. Often they will see well into circumstances or people than we ever could- with their spirit eyes... tenderness, perseverance, trust, love, and what true joy is all about they see.
