Blessed by A Child...A Child Welcomed So Lovingly into the World

This was Mady in June when she was born. There were so many people waiting for her and full of joy when she was born......
But that is not the case for lots of children. I know for some of mine they were created by their mom's being raped. How does a mom lovingly welcome a baby that was created by such a violent
act upon their bodies ? How does a mom rejoice when she is so stone high during the labor that she can't remember anything ? How does a mom have peace and love for yet another mouth to feed when she can't take care of the ones she already has ? These are valid feelings that a mom would normally have and how can we judge her actions for her desperations and hopeless life? I do not and thankfully have not been in their shoes.... but the only answer to this hopeless way of viewing your life is Jesus Christ.
Most of our children we have adopted came from mom's that can relate to this hopelessness . Some of our children even had such medical needs that if the mother had ultrasounds they would have been killed, aborted before their birth. Some of the scars on my children's lives are never going to be not visible or erasable... but they are alive and full of life today.
Today is the 38th anniversary of Roe v Wade. It was probably one of the most controversial decisions ever handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court. The outcome of Roe v Wade legalized abortion in all fifty states. The Supreme Court ruled that laws against abortion violated a woman's right to privacy. Modern technology has added a new light on the issue of abortion. DNA evidence and the ability to see into the womb have shattered the validity of the Supreme Court's statement that prior to birth there is no " personhood". Even Norma McCorvey, the original " Jane Roe", has become a prolife activist and in 2004 brought a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.
Sadly , we only go to the 4th chapter of Genesis before we read about the first taking of innocent life, when Cain killed his brother, Abel. God's response reveals much about His heart.... " Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground ! Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has swallowed your brother's blood. " ( Genesis 4:10)
Since the Supreme Court made abortion legal in 1973, millions of unborn children have been aborted in the US. These same babies who were being "knit together" by God in their's mother's womb had their life cut short. Psalm 139:13 " For you created my inner most being ; you knit me together in my mother's womb." If God heard the blood of Abel cry out to him from the ground, how defeaning is the cry from the soil of our nation.
Deuteronomy 30 :19 Oh, that you choose Life, so that you and your descendents might live!
I am so grateful to the mom's who felt hopeless and without "choices" that they did choose life for their child.... who we now share the wonderful sound of momma coming from their lips. No I was not able to birth all of my precious 27 children from my womb but the God who loves them and their mom, allowed me to be their momma also and as I share and would shout from a mountain top I am blessed by these children !
My heart aches that not all of them could be so lovingly welcomed into this world as our dear Mady was but now that they are a part of our family - all of them hold a special and dear place in my heart and the Lord's. I hope and pray that I can share how blessed we are thru my walk with them thru the rest of their lives.

Though they may not always have been "welcomed" into this world by their bio parents, those who join you certainly are "welcomed" with numerous open arms and hearts because you have such an amazing family!! I am in awe of how God sets this all up...children seperated from their bio parents for various reasons, but cherished, loved, welcomed by folks who will go to the ends of the earth to bring them home. I actually have a post half written about this, not yet posted. You just made me think a bit more tonight about how overwhelmingly meaningful it is how much we welcome these "discarded" children with such excitement. God bless, Jennifer

I can identify only a little with what these women go through, because I was sexually abused as a child. No child resulted from it, but when a rape (such an horrific, violent act) results in the blessing of a child, I am always reminded that our God can create beauty from ashes. I can understand how it would be hard, if not impossible, (especially for a non-Christian, in a non-Christian country) to have a constant reminder of a life altering experience like rape. But can NOT understand aborting an innocent child. I do understand them giving the child up~ thus giving the child a fresh start and a new life. How blessed are the children you have that their mother cared enough to birth them, despite their circumstances and entrust them to you. You are blessed to be the recipient of God's grace for these children. :)

Great post! I, too, have an adopted daughter that had an ultra sound, or the DS test been done, she would have been aborted. I'm thankful the birth parents gave birth to her, and thankful we have been given the opportunity to be her parents. She is such a blessing to our family....all, orchestrated by God. He is awesome.

God's Blessings
